Phase One Folding And Prepping Sheets For The Ripper.

We process 120 sheets at a time. Here they are in stacks of 25 and one with 20 This is how they look when they arrive from the Faultless Laundry   Each sheet has to be re folded so as to maximize it for the ripper. After folding there will be 8 layers about 10 inches wide.   The folds are checked to insure the alignment of the folds is correct The the ends are squared and sides are cut to conform to the eight layers.

Phase Two Ripping the Sheets

Walt, on the left, pulls the sheet through the ripper while John performs guidance  control as sheet passes under four rotary knifes Each sheet yields about 24 strips, 3 inches wide   Each strip needs to be sewn creating one continuous strip which will be rolled to a 3 inch diameter bandage.   Rolling the 3 inch strip. Each sheet yields 2.5  bandages. It takes 64 bandages to make a case.
